Project Engineer

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of engineering experience supporting large-scale industrial or power generation projects
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with greenfield combined cycle or power plant projects
• Strong background in mechanical and civil engineering, with the ability to act as the engineering SME on-site
• Experience working with structural systems, piping, concrete, rotating equipment, and turbine systems
• Proven experience supporting and troubleshooting rotating equipment (pumps, fans, etc.)
• Proficient with Navisworks, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling tools

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Project Engineer for a greenfield power generation project in Rayville, LA. This individual will lead and oversee all engineering efforts on-site, serving as the technical authority across mechanical and civil disciplines. This is a four year long contract.

This role will partner closely with the Project Manager and Project Controls team to ensure all engineering deliverables align with project scope, schedule, and corporate standards. The Project Engineer will be responsible for coordinating engineering activities across contractors and internal teams, ensuring designs are accurate, constructible, and executed in accordance with project specifications.

Day-to-day responsibilities include managing contractor engineering performance, reviewing construction drawings, and ensuring all technical work meets quality and performance requirements. This individual will also serve as the key point of contact for engineering-related communication between stakeholders, helping to drive alignment across cross-functional teams.
