Job Description The Division of Disease Control's mission is to safeguard the health of New Yorkers through identification, surveillance, treatment, control, and prevention of infectious diseases, which is achieved through varied and interrelated endeavors of its seven Bureaus. The Bureau of Public Health Clinics (BPHC) mission is to promote a healthy community by providing New Yorkers with the resources needed to make informed and empowered health decisions; identify and treat tuberculosis and provide immunization and sexual health services regardless of ability to pay or immigration status. BPHC provides direct clinic services to people seeking health care; monitors disease trends; provides education and training to service providers and community groups; conducts research; and develops policies and programs to deliver high quality clinical care which best serve New Yorkers The Bureau is requesting to hire a City Pharmacy Technician/Pharmacy Tech to work in one of our public health clinics to provide health service to those who may be infected/contact with treat as needed. This person will report to the Bureau’s Pharmacist.
- Assist pharmacists in training, supervision of pharmacy technician staff
- Provide technical guidance to pharmacy technicians
- Evaluate documentation accuracy and performance efficiency of other pharmacy technicians
- Prepare specialized dispensing and inventory reports as assigned
- As assigned, investigate medication discrepancies and determine corrective actions
- Support pharmacist with Quality assurance projects as assigned.
- Assist Pharmacist in the Pharmacy unit with prior authorization approvals as well as prescription processing and billing.
- Coordinate non-formulary and specialty medication procurement.

Qualifications A valid license to practice as a Registered Pharmacy Technician issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
