SALARY RANGE $25.00-$29.00 / HR. DOE

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, this position supports the maintenance area in all areas of manufacturing . This position is also responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must have the ability to properly measure utilizing a tape measure and calipers. Must have the ability to properly operate an oxygen/acetylene torch and a plasma cutter. Must have the ability to arc weld in various positions and types of joints. Reads and evaluates work order/plan of action and plans projects accordingly. Performs and documents daily pre-operational inspections on equipment and work areas. Performs safety inspections on equipment and makes needed adjustments and/or repairs. Performs scheduled maintenance on manufacturing/process equipment. Fills out required paperwork including inspections and work orders, etc. Ability to replace equipment parts with proper instructions. Determines whether to repair or replace worn or dysfunctional parts as needed. Basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems troubleshooting practices required. Ability to read and troubleshoot simple pneumatic and hydraulic schematics. Demonstrate the ability to rebuild cylinders and hydraulic valves Demonstrate the ability to repair and set up all types of molds to company standards. Demonstrate the ability to use a multi-functional electrical test meter. Demonstrate the ability to read and troubleshoot simple electrical schematics Performs electrical system troubleshooting and repairs or replaces components as needed. Demonstrate the ability to wire and phase direction single- and three-phase motors & contactors Troubleshoots and makes modifications to various equipment as needed. Determines if a machine must be shut down for repairs. Operates shop equipment; drill press, welders, grinder, multi-function electrical test meter, cutting equipment, pressure washer, overhead hoists, hand tools, and any other equipment required to perform duties. Minor component/parts requisition and purchasing may be required. Basic rigging and lifting practices are required as needed. Basic welding practices with various metals may be required. Assists in fabricating projects working with various materials and tools. Demonstrate the ability to lay out and fabricate from drawings Knowledge of plant equipment, location, and name. Demonstrate knowledge of the safety requirements for performing maintenance on equipment and tools. Demonstrate ability to start or jog equipment to perform maintenance tasks. Forklift, manlift, and other mobile equipment operation is required. Utilizing electronic devices to troubleshoot equipment issues as required. Works with operators and supervisors to solve problems with machinery. After-hours emergency repair work may be required as needed. Regularly meets with supervisor. Maintains work area clean and clutter-free per company standards All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected. Predictable and Regular attendance is required. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. T he requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. High school education or equivalent. Basic welding and machinery maintenance experience required. Four years of welding and machinery maintenance experience is beneficial. Working knowledge of industrial electricity is beneficial Ability to operate forklift, drill press, welders, angle grinders, multi-function electrical test meter, hand tools, and any other equipment required to perform duties. On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform duties Forklift operational experience is beneficial. Requires basic reading and writing skills. Basic mathematics and counting skills are required. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a professional manner in dealing with employees and the public. Operation of mobile electronic equipment may be required. Valid Driver’s License may be required to operate personal and Basalite vehicles on public roadways. Predictable, and Regular attendance is required. Plant environment with moderate to loud noise, moving and vibrating machinery, dusty, dirty, fumes and/or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, hot and cold (non-weather) conditions. Outdoor weather conditions. Working areas may include elevated working platforms.
