Certified Surgical Technologist - PD - Same Day - Summit -Overlook

Job Description Responsible for assisting nursing personnel in delivering quality care to patients in the operating room. Performs duties as a scrub person under the supervision of a registered nurse. Assists in obtaining supplies, equipment, and opening of operating rooms as needed. Breaks down setups and prepares instruments for sterilization. Assists in transferring patients to the recovery room and cleans and restocks the operating room. Principal Accountabilities: Checks and gathers all instruments for each case using the surgeon's preference card. Checks sterility tapes, dates, and wrapper integrity. Opens sterile supplies, maintains a sterile field, and corrects breaks in technique immediately. Performs surgical scrub techniques and gowning and gloving procedures for self and team. Arranges instruments, basins, sutures, and supplies for accurate count post-surgery. Assists circulating nurses with counts of sponges, needles, and other instruments/devices. Uses devices and instruments properly and performs standard draping techniques. Passes instruments safely and efficiently to the surgical team. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program. Certification through NCCT or NBSTSA required. 1-2 years of hospital experience as a Scrub Tech preferred. BLS certification required. #J-18808-Ljbffr Atlantic Health System
