This is a hybrid (in office San Jose, CA minimum 3 days per week) role, reporting to the Senior Manager, Engineering in the ZPA Engineering department. In this highly impactful role, you will lead software quality engineering and test automation for Zscaler’s highly distributed security cloud built on Zero Trust Architecture. You will leverage AI-assisted frameworks for test automation while actively participating in crucial cloud operations to achieve five nines of high availability.What you’ll do (Role Expectations)Gain an in-depth understanding of Zscaler cloud technologies, particularly Datapath, and leverage AI frameworks for test-driven developmentWork closely with developers and product management to understand and provide inputs on new featuresLead AI-assisted test plan generation, execution, test automation, and bug fix validationContribute to core cloud operations, including phased software rollouts, feature enablement, alert handling, and capacity planningMonitor, diagnose, and resolve complex system failures across distributed networks while conducting performance benchmarking and chaos testingWho You Are (Success Profile)You act like an owner with a strong passion for the mission, operating with integrity, a bias for action, and the ability to navigate seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.You operate with urgency, understanding that speed and quality are not mutually exclusive, and maintaining a relentless focus on execution to deliver high-impact results quickly.You are data-driven, using data and analytics to find the truth, measure what matters, and guide informed decisions based on evidence over assumptions.You think at scale, connecting day-to-day work to the broader company mission and building sustainable solutions designed to support a high-growth global organization.You are resilient and adaptable, viewing change as an opportunity, maintaining composure in high-pressure situations, and guiding yourself and your team through complexity.What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)Demonstrated curiosity and active exploration of AI tools, with a proven history of integrating new technologies to enhance daily workflows and augment problem-solvingBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field5+ years of experience in network testing and automationExperience testing cloud, security, and Datapath technologiesFamiliarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, observability tools, and operational automationWhat Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)Experience with AI-assisted testing, automation, and validation frameworksPrior experience with Zero Trust Architecture or related security domainsExperience supporting high-scale cloud operations#LI-KM9 #LI-HybridZscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level.
