Security Engineer - Cyber Security

Salary: $100,000 - 110,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in information security or another computer-related discipline, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• We expect at least four years of relevant professional experience.
• We need professional-level knowledge of common network protocols used in corporate environments.
• We require professional-level expertise in at least three of the following areas: networking infrastructure products such as routers, switches, and wireless; Windows operating systems; security infrastructure products such as firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and content filtering; virtualized infrastructure such as Citrix, VMware, and Nutanix; cloud administration and security in Azure or AWS.
• We value advanced knowledge of networking and communications technologies, including TCP/IP, remote access, firewalls, and wireless protocols.
• We prefer experience with endpoint security best practices aligned to NIST, CIS, or Microsoft standards.
• We prefer certifications in system architecture, design, or administration such as Microsoft, Cisco, or VMware.
• We also consider security operations certifications such as EC-Council or CompTIA to be a plus.
• We prefer experience working within change management processes.
• We prefer cloud administration and security experience in Azure and/or AWS.
• We expect strong analytical, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• We require the ability to read, interpret, and apply business, technical, and regulatory materials.
• We require the ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply them to practical situations.
• We expect strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret varied instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

• We design, plan, and implement in-house and cloud-based information systems and enterprise software architectures that support our information security operations.
• We evaluate and recommend technologies that help protect confidentiality, integrity, and availability while aligning with our standards.
• We engineer, implement, and deploy advanced security solutions across the enterprise.
• We serve as a technical escalation point for security analysts handling alerts, events, and logs.
• We escalate findings and issues appropriately to senior management.
• We design, implement, and refine technical controls that reduce vulnerabilities and strengthen defenses.
• We recommend, test, and validate system hardening standards for new and existing network-attached platforms and applications.
• We oversee the lifecycle management of security platforms and infrastructure, including configuration, troubleshooting, optimization, and updates.
• We contribute to the development, improvement, and enforcement of enterprise security policies, standards, and procedures.
• We prepare technical and executive-level reports covering assessments, risk findings, security posture, and remediation guidance.
• We lead tuning, configuration optimization, and policy improvements for firewalls, IPS/IDS, host-based firewalls, application control tools, and SIEM platforms.
• We provide ongoing reporting and analysis to security leadership on threat trends, control effectiveness, and overall security posture.
• We monitor, analyze, and track application and system vulnerabilities, validate severity, prioritize risk, and support remediation planning.
• We track patch and configuration compliance, identify gaps, and partner with system owners to drive remediation and continuous improvement.
• We maintain proficiency in our policies and procedures and complete required compliance training on time.
