The Department of Medicine, the largest department at Mayo Clinic in Arizona, is positioned for continued growth in clinical care, research, education, and innovation. The next Division Chair will provide strategic leadership across Mayo Clinic’s three shields—clinical practice, research, and education—while advancing the Division’s national reputation for excellence in endocrinology, diabetes, metabolism, and nutrition. The Division is recognized for its comprehensive, patient-centered approach to the care of complex endocrine disorders and offers a highly integrated model of care. Key programmatic strengths include diabetes technology and education, transplant-related diabetes management, bone metabolism and osteoporosis services, advanced endocrine testing and therapies, and multidisciplinary specialty clinics developed in collaboration with colleagues across multiple disciplines. The Division Chair reports directly to the Chair of the Department of Medicine and partners closely with Mayo Clinic Arizona executive leadership, administrative leaders, and fellow division chairs to advance Mayo Clinic’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities. The Division: The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Metabolism, and Nutrition is committed to advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of endocrine and metabolic diseases through excellence in patient care, education, and research. As one of the largest endocrinology practices in the world, the Division serves patients across Mayo Clinic locations in Arizona, Florida, Minnesota, and the Mayo Clinic Health System. The Division provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for a broad range of endocrine and metabolic disorders, while advancing innovative approaches to improve patient outcomes. The Division has a distinguished legacy of scientific discovery and continues to be a leader in clinical, translational, and laboratory-based research. Investigators are actively engaged in studies focused on: Diabetes and metabolic disease Lipid disorders Nutrition and obesity Osteoporosis and calcium disorders Pituitary, adrenal, and gonadal disorders Thyroid disease and thyroid cancer Transplantation-related endocrine disorders Researchers collaborate closely with colleagues across Mayo Clinic to accelerate discovery and translate new findings into clinical practice through a robust portfolio of investigator-initiated studies and clinical trials. Training Programs The Arizona campus is home to a separately accredited campus of the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, graduating more than 30 medical students annually. The Division plays an integral role in the education of Internal Medicine residents and supports an ACGME-accredited Endocrinology Fellowship Program, including rotations at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and the Phoenix VA Health Care System. Qualifications MD, DO, or MD/PhD with board certification in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Arizona Previous leadership experience in an academic setting Scholarly accomplishments appropriate for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, with a minimum of 10+ years of experience post-fellowship Demonstrated commitment to pursuing high-impact, transformative innovation Evidence of effective mentorship and development of junior faculty Outstanding clinician with a successful track record of high-quality clinical outcomes #J-18808-Ljbffr Association of American Medical Colleges
