Lead Superintendent

A top commercial construction firm is seeking an experienced Lead Superintendent to oversee field operations for commercial construction projects from preconstruction through project completion. Working closely with the Project Manager, the Lead Superintendent is responsible for directing project engineers, assistant superintendents, field personnel, and subcontractors while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This leadership role offers the opportunity to mentor and develop field teams while delivering successful ground-up and renovation construction projects. Responsibilities Lead all on-site construction activities from project startup through closeout while serving as the primary field liaison with the project owner. Ensure the project team fully understands the contract scope, project objectives, and construction requirements. Develop, maintain, and manage the master project schedule, coordinating work sequencing to maximize subcontractor productivity and project efficiency. Implement and maintain the project\'s Quality Control Plan to ensure work meets contract documents and quality standards. Administer subcontract agreements and purchase orders in accordance with contract requirements, reviewing invoices and payment applications for accuracy and timely processing. Promote and maintain a safe jobsite by enforcing all company safety policies and OSHA regulations. Supervise, mentor, coach, and evaluate project engineers, assistant superintendents, trainees, and field personnel. Foster a collaborative, professional, and positive work environment that supports employee growth and development. Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and project stakeholders. Represent the company with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to exceptional customer service and community involvement. Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or a related construction field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience managing ground-up commercial construction and/or major renovation projects. Proven leadership experience supervising and developing field teams in a fast-paced construction environment. Strong knowledge of construction project management, scheduling, estimating, budgeting, cost control, field operations, contract administration, and financial reporting. Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines. Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and other project documents. Demonstrated ability to professionally resolve issues with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders. Experience with subcontractor procurement, bid review, scope development, contract negotiations, and subcontract administration. Strong understanding of construction scheduling principles, sequencing, and critical path methodology. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project, Procore, and other construction management software platforms. Working knowledge of AIA contract documents, including Cost Plus Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) contracts. OSHA 30 Certification required. Professional certifications such as CCM, PMP, PSP, DRMP, CEP, or LEED Accreditation are preferred.
