About the Role:

The Dishwasher plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards of our food service establishment, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for both staff and guests. This position involves the efficient cleaning of dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to support smooth kitchen operations. The Dishwasher must consistently follow sanitation protocols and safety guidelines to prevent contamination and uphold health regulations. This role requires physical stamina to handle repetitive motions, lifting heavy items, and standing for extended periods. Ultimately, the Dishwasher contributes to the overall guest experience by enabling timely food preparation and service through reliable and thorough cleaning practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Basic reading ability to understand instructions and safety guidelines.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds safely.
• Capability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality to maintain consistent kitchen operations.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a food service or hospitality environment.
• Knowledge of sanitation standards and food safety regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment.
• Basic understanding of kitchen operations and food service workflow.

Responsibilities:

• Operate dishwashing machines and manually wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to ensure all items are clean and sanitized.
• Sort and organize clean dishes and kitchen tools for easy access by kitchen and service staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including floors, sinks, and counters, to comply with health and safety standards.
• Dispose of waste and recyclables properly and assist with general kitchen cleaning tasks as needed.
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Skills:

The required skills such as basic reading and following instructions ensure that the Dishwasher can comprehend and adhere to safety and sanitation protocols effectively. Physical skills like lifting heavy weights and standing for long periods are essential for managing the physical demands of the role, including handling large loads of dishes and maintaining productivity throughout the shift.
