BUS 324: Introduction to Business Analytics Position : Lecturer Semester : Fall 2026 Day/Time : Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. Place : CSUSM Main campus Modality : In-person College : College of Business Administration Department : Operations & Supply Chain Management The Department of Operations and Supply Chain Management at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach a section of BUS 324: Introduction to Business Analytics. Course Description This course introduces business analytics concepts and tools used in various business functions. It consists of two distinct parts: predictive and prescriptive modeling/analytics. The predictive analytics section covers the use of statistical data to understand and solve business problems. Subjects include a review of descriptive statistics tools, hypothesis testing, ANOVA, and simple/multiple regression analysis. Statistical data-mining models are also discussed. The prescriptive analytics section covers deterministic optimization models. Statistical software and spreadsheet optimization are introduced. Minimum Qualifications A master's degree in business administration or a related discipline Active current industry experience in an analytics‑related position Working in the State of California is a condition of employment per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy. Preferred Qualifications A doctorate or equivalent Previous teaching experience at a four-year university and/or community college. Intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service. Salary Salary commensurate with degree level and experience.
