As a Warehouse Lead with Gordon Food Service, you'll be responsible for overseeing warehouse activities, coordinating tasks, and ensuring efficient and smooth operations while working alongside other warehouse departments. Be part of a skilled team that offers respect, expertise, and professional development!Position Summary:Coordinates and assists the activities of Gordon Food Service (GFS) warehouse including shipping, receiving, inventory and/ or selection in conjunction with the Warehouse Supervisor.Schedule: Sunday- Thursday, 3pm until finishPay: $70,772- $84,917 (based on experience)Bonuses, incentives, and additional payEssential Functions:Coordinates with the supervisors to assist in coordinating the daily activities of GFS warehouse.Monitors the receiving, selection, and/ or loading of warehouse products to ensure the efficient flow of products in the warehouse.Assists in observations, employee reviews, and disciplinary actions. Provides recommendations on hiring, performance review and disciplinary actions to warehouse supervisor.Monitors and prioritizes order fulfillment.Assists in investigating variances.Assists in the administration function and record keeping for the department to include daily time and attendance, weekly action incentive input and scoring, preparing meetings, and analyzing error ratios.Provides training for employees on job technique and/or safety requirements.Serve in the function of employee or supervisor as appropriate.Assists in resolving warehouse issues, problems or conflicts.Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:Must have good written and verbal communication skills and good organizational and problem solving skills.Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and be able to work independently or within a team environment.Must have good leadership skills and a thorough understanding of warehouse operations.Must have a basic understanding of DOT, OSHA, EEOC and other related regulatory agencies and lawsEmployees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
