IT Intern

Position: IT Intern Reports to: Director of IT - Kerry Bruce Pay: $17.00 per hour Length of Internship: 10-20 weeks Weekly Hours: Up to 29 hours per week When Work Happens: Monday - Friday during normal business hours (7:00 am -3:30 pm); flexible to accommodate class schedules Where Work Happens: In person; B&D Industries, Inc. The IT Support Intern will assist the IT team with entry-level technical support and administrative tasks while gaining exposure to enterprise systems, professional IT operations, and workplace expectations in a fast-paced environment that values collaboration, learning, and a fun workplace culture. Responsibilities: Assist with providing basic technical support to employees for desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other peripherals, both in person and remotely Gain exposure to troubleshooting of common hardware, software, and connectivity issues under the direction of senior IT staff Assist users with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint Help prepare, configure, and deploy workstations, laptops, and mobile devices for new hires and existing employees Assist with basic user account tasks such as password resets, access requests, and account updates Support inventory tracking and organization of IT equipment, including laptops, mobile devices, accessories, and peripherals Assist with documenting support requests, asset records, and basic IT procedures to ensure accurate records are maintained Help ensure IT equipment is properly maintained, stored, and reported when issues arise Escalate technical issues to senior IT staff as appropriate and follow up as directed Participate in IT department training and learning opportunities to build foundational technical skills Follow company policies, procedures, and IT security standards at all times Physical demands include long hours sitting, prolonged computer use, standing, pulling/pushing, walking, lifting, and climbing Other duties, activities, and responsibilities may vary and change as assigned Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required Current CNM student - Program related to Information Technology, Computer Systems, or a related field preferred Strong communicator who is organized, dependable, and eager to learn What You Will Learn: Fundamentals of end-user technical support in a professional environment Exposure to Microsoft 365 tools and enterprise IT systems Basics of workstation and mobile device setup, deployment, and asset management How an IT department supports a large construction organization Professional communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills Workplace expectations, collaboration, and time management in a corporate setting *This role is contingent on passing a background check and pre-employment drug test #J-18808-Ljbffr B&D Industries
