The Field Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy equipment at customer sites./ppWe are currently offering up to a $5,000 sign-on bonus for Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician new hires. $2,500 is payable after 90 days of employment, and the remaining $2,500 is payable after 180 days of employment. Minimum of three years relevant heavy equipment field experience is required to be eligible for the $5,000 sign-on bonus. Candidates with less than 3 years heavy equipment field experience are eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus. Bonuses are made in 2 equal installments at 90 days and 180 days of employment./ppWhat You Will Do:/pulliApply troubleshooting techniques and determine proper repair procedures on all assigned work orders./liliService, diagnose and repair all machine components and systems, including engine/components air conditioning units; change hoses; repair cylinders, buckets, and booms; at customers jobsite./liliDisassemble, inspect and determine parts needed. Reassemble to factory specifications./liliInteract with customer and answer repair-related questions as required. Refer non-repair related questions to supervisor./liliPerform minor electrical and computer repairs./liliInterpret and utilize information from operating, maintenance and service manuals/bulletins./liliPrepare parts requisitions, parts returns, accurate and complete service reports, and other necessary reports and forms./liliClearly and concisely document all work and repairs completed in a timely manner./liliMaintain work area, tools and equipment to promote a clean and safe environment./liliWork in coordination with team to achieve Continuous Improvement goals and objectives./liliPerform various other duties as assigned./li/ulpWhat Were Looking For:/pulliPrevious experience performing mechanical service and repairs to Caterpillar and related competitive equipment./liliHigh school diploma or GED required./li/ulpWhat Success Looks Like In This Role:/pulliMust have excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills./liliMust have excellent mechanical aptitude./liliMust be able to work independently and as part of a team./liliMust be able to interact professionally with customers and all of levels of personnel within the organization./liliMust be a strong communicator with excellent verbal and written communications skills./liliMust be a self-directed and well organized with the ability to prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service./liliDemonstrate the ability to learn and apply new knowledge./liliProficient use of technical software, databases and manuals./liliMust be able to function well in a fast-paced environment./liliMust have an excellent driving record and the ability to obtain a CDL.
