As an Operations Control Manager in Consumer and Community Banking, you will lead a team providing control oversight for an Operations product organization and strategic guidance supporting the responsible adoption of AI across Consumer and Community Banking Operations. You will provide strategic leadership in managing compliance and operational risks, promoting the consistent application of governance requirements, and driving practical, innovative enhancements. Job responsibilities

• Lead a high-performing team providing control oversight for an Operations product organization and strategic guidance supporting the responsible adoption of AI across Consumer and Community Banking Operations.

• Provide strategic leadership in identifying, assessing, and managing compliance and operational risks.

• Partner with Operations Product and other relevant stakeholders to strengthen the control environment and support business objectives.

• Promote the consistent interpretation and application of applicable policies, standards, and governance requirements.

• Anticipate emerging risks and implementation challenges and drive practical, innovative enhancements to governance and control practices.

• Guide the development of effective, sustainable controls and drive timely resolution of identified gaps.

• Provide senior management with clear, actionable insights regarding risks, controls, issues, and emerging areas of focus.

• Leverage strong project management skills to lead strategic initiatives, manage delivery, and influence the continued development of the control management approach.

• Develop talent and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• 10 years of experience in control management within the financial services sector, with a focus on compliance, operational risk management and technology risk.

• Proven experience leading control oversight for a product, business, or function within a large, complex organization.

• People leadership skills, including setting strategic direction, developing talent, fostering collaboration, and driving accountability.

• Strategic thinking and sound judgment, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and develop practical, innovative solutions.

• Project management and execution skills, with experience leading strategic initiatives, managing delivery, and driving outcomes.

• Proven ability to build trusted partnerships, influence decisions, and communicate complex matters clearly and concisely to senior management.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Knowledge of machine learning, artificial intelligence, or other emerging technologies and their business and risk implications.

• Experience applying AI governance requirements or providing control oversight for technology-enabled products or transformation initiatives.

• Strong influence skills to lead teams, collaborate with executives, and drive strategic initiatives.

• Understanding of product development practices and technology enabled operating models.

• Familiarity with risk disciples relevant to artificial intelligence adoption and their impact on the control environment.

• Experience influencing enhancements to governance frameworks, policies, standards, or control practices.

Our Consumer & Community Banking division serves our Chase customers through a range of financial services, including personal banking, credit cards, mortgages, auto financing, investment advice, small business loans and payment processing. Control Management maintains a strong and consistent control environment through a joint accountability model that aligns managers with each function and region to mitigate operational risk. The team focuses on four areas: Control Design & Expertise, Risks & Controls Identification/Assessment, Issues & Control Deficiencies and Control Governance & Reporting.
