Position Details Title: Voting Operations Supervisor Department: Clerk and Recorder’s Office – Elections Division Salary: $52,488.00 – $75,684.00 annually Location: Boulder County, CO (1750 33rd St., Boulder, CO 80301) Type: Full-time, Non-exempt Opening Date: 06/08/2026 Closing Date: 06/21/2026 11:59 PM Mountain Time About the Role The Voting Operations Supervisor coordinates all aspects of Vote Center management, ensuring Boulder County vote centers operate successfully. The role includes staffing, training election judges, maintaining ballot accounting, assisting with community outreach, and reporting to the Voting Operations Manager. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the Voting Operations Manager to identify, survey, secure, and implement Vote Center sites. Coordinate recruitment, hiring, training, and placement of temporary election workers in accordance with state, county, and Clerk and Recorder policies. Develop, implement, and deliver a multi-day judge training program, including comprehensive guidelines and clear training materials. Ensure all Vote Center ballot issuances are reconciled between multiple data sets and work with election staff to guarantee compliance with statutory regulations. Determine equipment needs for each voting site and oversee the coordination, setup, and validation of all Vote Center equipment. Serve as the primary point of contact for Vote Center judges, providing troubleshooting, guidance, and support. Provide excellent voter service by welcoming questions and ensuring timely, accurate responses. Research national and state best practices regarding in-person voting and election judge coordination to maintain industry leadership. Complete required coursework to obtain and maintain Colorado Election Certification. Organize and execute special projects using project planning skills. Report plans, changes, updates, and challenges to supervisors and the election team following election processes. Track and retain all relevant election data to aid future planning, voter education, and outreach. Ensure compliance with Colorado Revised Statute, Secretary of State rules, and Clerk and Recorder policies. Write and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Conduct voter engagement and outreach, including in high schools and colleges/universities. Required Qualifications Minimum of 4 years combined education and experience, including at least six months in a people training or community outreach capacity. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Ability to work overtime, nights, and weekends during election season; recognize that vacation scheduling may be restricted during the election calendar. History of building inclusive cultures and supporting historically excluded communities. Strong non‑verbal and verbal communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Systematic thinking, data planning, and problem‑solving experience. Comfortable working in rapidly changing, deadline‑driven environments during elections. Attention to detail and adherence to process requirements. Ability to read and interpret election law and rules. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of current adult education practices.
