Housekeeping Cleaner Job Overview As a Housekeeping Cleaner at La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, you will maintain the cleanliness, safety, and comfort of guest rooms, public areas, and club facilities. Detailed cleaning, restocking, and attention to hygiene standards are essential to providing an exceptional experience for guests and members. Responsibilities Report maintenance issues to supervisory staff. Receive work assignments and schedules from the housekeeping supervisor. Scrub guest and employee restrooms, including walls, floors, mirrors, fixtures, sinks, vanities, toilets, and urinals; replenish supplies and record tasks on cleaning logs. Spot clean carpets, upholstery, floors, walls, ceilings, draperies, windows, woodwork, patios, and room accessories. Sweep, scrub, and mop public areas and stairwells. Maintain fitness center, pool area, windbreak, courtyard, and patio furniture in guest areas. Retrieve dirty linen and trash from housekeeper carts. Wash windows, screens, sills, exterior lighting, railings, ice machines, and skylights. Empty and clean sand urns; transport waste to disposal areas. Stock linen rooms with glasses, utensils, and amenities. Clean meeting room carpets, floors, walls, doors, ceilings, draperies, windows, and woodwork. Provide support to housekeeping staff and assist guests as needed by transporting luggage, delivering items, and showing rooms. Other duties may be assigned to support daily operations. Qualifications High school diploma or GED, or one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred: previous experience cleaning in a hotel setting. English communication skills sufficient to read and comprehend simple instructions, write simple correspondence, and effectively present information to customers and staff; bilingual ability preferred but not required. Mathematical skills: add and subtract two‑digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10s and 100s, and perform these operations using units of weight measurement. Reasoning ability: apply common sense to follow detailed written or oral instructions and handle problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Physical demands: stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required; lift up to 10 lbs frequently, up to 40 lbs frequently, and up to 60 lbs occasionally; work in outdoors and wet/humid conditions; tolerate moderate to loud noise. Availability to work weekends and holidays; flexible shift schedule with potential rotation.
