Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg

Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical

Shift: 3x12-hour Nights Weekend requirement: Yes — approximately 2 weekend shifts per pay period (flexible)

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• Travel experience required
• Trauma Level II experience: Preferred
• State or Compact license must be in hand at time of submittal
• Required certification: BLS
• Charting: Epic
• Key clinical skills:
• Med/Surg and Telemetry experience
• Airway/respiratory management: BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, tracheostomy care, non-invasive airway
• Vascular/lines: peripheral IVs, PICC/central line care, phlebotomy, blood product administration
• Post-op, wound care/Wound VAC, surgical drain care
• Renal/hemodialysis pre/post care, AKI management
• Cardiac post-MI and telemetry monitoring
• Sepsis management, ABG interpretation
• Substance withdrawal (CIWA) management

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical setting.
• Monitor patient conditions, administer medications and treatments, and document patient care in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement care plans and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in rapid response and code team situations when necessary.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions and post-discharge care.

Compliance / Notes:

• Core items/labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All RTO must be listed at time of submittal
