Join us at Sidus Space to be part of something extraordinary and help shape the future of space access!Job SummaryThe Quality Inspector is responsible for the inspection of complex tight tolerance Aerospace manufactured parts and the submittal of out of tolerance conditions to Customer and/or in-house Engineering support. This position is expected to be 100% onsite in Cape Canaveral.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesInspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications and Customer requirements utilizing best method of inspection (manual inspection methods).Mechanical inspection of products to verify conformance to drawing and specification requirements.Review work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or materials requirements.Review drawings or other instructions to determine operational methods or sequences.Assist with Manufacturing to determine Inspection frequency to assure first time quality.Review data and Customer/Industry workmanship standards to determine requirements for inspection and compliance.Correlate and record inspection data to document in required format.Identify items with detail acceptance-rejection status.Monitor equipment operation to ensure proper functioning and to ensure that products are not flawed and notify supervisors or other personnel of production problems, equipment repair or maintenance needs.Work closely with CNC machinists to complete inspections and support the team to meet Customer deadlines and complete inspection reports describing results.Compare physical characteristics of materials or products to specifications or standards.Clean production equipment.Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operation as required.Treat all coworkers with respect and dignity ensuring a collaborative culture is continually developed and maintained.Other duties as assignedRequired Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum of three (3) years of experience with manual inspection methods; Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) Operation experience is a plusKnowledge on AS9100 working environment and First Article Inspection (AS9102), preferredKnowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods, preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and ability to learn and use other applications including Adobe AcrobatRequired QualificationsAbility to read, interpret and apply various technical data such as prints, specifications and utilize specialized inspection and hand toolsAbility to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment,Solution oriented while committed to consistency and processAbility to work under minimal direction while keeping within the limitations of designated authorities, exercising regular use of good judgmentExcellent written and verbal communication skills to be able present information, concepts and proposals with a wide range of audiences at all levels, technical or non-technical individuals both internal and external to the companyKnowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.Additional Eligibility QualificationsFlexibility to work occasional overtime to support the team as needed.All candidates selected will be subject to a background investigation and drug screenMust meet all eligibility requirements as a US work authorized applicant under International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily and, if requested, reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of their job, absent undue hardship.Physical RequirementsRepetitive movement, long periods of standing and walking on concrete surfacesAbility to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controlsRequires wearing common protective or safety equipmentMust be able to lift up to 50 lbsTotal Rewards and Perks At Sidus SpaceJeans every dayRegular onsite food trucks5 free company t-shirts for Manufacturing StaffPaid Time Off including 11 paid holidaysAdjustable stand-up desksEmployee referral bonus programEducational assistance and professional training opportunitiesCompany golf outings and other social eventsSIDUS SPACE is an Equal Opportunity Employer fostering a respectful work culture that values all contributors.
