As the engineer of Search AI Product Engineering team, you will own one of the most critical product surfaces on Coupang's app – Search and Discovery surfaces where 60%+ of transactions happen.What You Will Do Engineer robust AI harness solutions to power the Search AI Product Engineering teamDevelop and launch groundbreaking AI-driven experiences for Coupang's search and discovery platformsDrive the high-quality development and maintenance of critical iOS search components, ensuring a robust, fluent, and lightning-fast user experience that wows our customers.Strategically collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and cross-functional teams to deliver holistic, end-to-end user experiences.Apply best-in-class programming skills to develop highly innovative, consumer-facing mobile productsWhat we are looking for6+ years of professional iOS development experience, demonstrating deep proficiency in swiftProven track record developing and scaling high-quality, large-scale consumer mobile applicationsHands-on experience engineering robust AI harness solutionsExpertise utilizing data analytic tools (e.g., Presto, Jupyter) to drive product insightsAbility to design, execute, and analyze complex A/B tests and experiments to inform product decisionsExperience with architecture patterns like MVVM, modern concurrency (Combine / async-await), and data persistence (Core Data)Deep and practical understanding of modern iOS UI development, including both UIKit and SwiftUIExceptional cross-functional communication skills and a strong product sense.A strong passion and sense of ownership for building and iterating on consumer-facing productBasic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, statistics or closely related fieldsExperience developing high quality, large-scale consumer applicationsExperience in data analytic tools such as Presto or JupyterAble to conduct complex A/B testing, able to do experiment analysisDeep understanding of UI development of AndroidExperience with MVVM, Hilt and RoomStrong communication skills and great product senseStrong passion of building productPreferred Qualifications Master’s or PhD in relevant technical fieldsExperience with iOS application development (Swift/Objective-C).Experience with Android and/or web development is a strong plusProven track record of strong ownership, ideally within an early-stage startup environment.Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to work independently and manage ambiguity in fast-paced environmentPay & Benefits Our compensation reflects the cost of living across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation.The base pay for Staff position ranges from $164K/year to $282K/year.
