Logistics Project Coordinator - Houston

As a Project Coordinator at BWS, you will support senior project managers and management with end‑to‑end project execution for domestic and international shipments. Your duties will include planning, coordination and successful delivery of projects, ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, and high levels of customer satisfaction. In this role, you will be one of the primary points of contact for customers, driving performance, resolving issues, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. You will contribute to the team by fostering continuous improvement, accountability, and operational efficiency across all assigned tasks and projects. Key responsibilities and tasks Ensure all ISF and Customs Clearance requests are sent to the assigned customs broker timely and accurately. Ensure all shipments are delivered on time, within scope, and within approved budgets. Proactively identify potential disruptions and implement corrective actions to maintain project performance. Serve as a key point of contact for customers, building strong, long‑term relationships. Attend client meetings, provide performance updates, and ensure alignment with customer expectations and contractual obligations. Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, agents, and internal departments to ensure seamless execution. Monitor and manage all incoming shipments and update customer booking reports. Analyze transportation costs and implement cost‑control strategies to optimize profitability. Approve and review freight invoices, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate billing to clients. Contribute to pricing strategies and support commercial opportunities where applicable. Oversee preparation and accuracy of all shipping documentation, including bills of lading, arrival notices, delivery orders, invoices, and supporting documents. Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company policies. Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and operational efficiency. Provide support to the team ensuring coverage on assigned projects is met. Foster a collaborative, performance‑driven team environment. Ensure accurate and timely entry of project data into company systems. Generate and present performance reports to leadership and clients. Maintain comprehensive documentation for audit and compliance purposes. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and competencies Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex, multi‑stakeholder projects. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal teams, customers, and vendors. Strong organizational, decision‑making, and time‑management abilities, with a focus on prioritizing tasks effectively. High attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work. Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment. Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities. Proficient in both verbal and written communication, ensuring clear and professional interaction with internal and external stakeholders. Proven experience in project logistics, freight forwarding, or ocean transportation management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
