Live-In Caregiver (CHHA) — Driver Required

Live-In Caregiver with a Driver's License

Assisting Hands Home Care is specifically seeking live-in caregivers who hold an active New Jersey CHHA certification and are willing and comfortable driving clients.

Driving is an essential responsibility of this position. Caregivers must have a valid driver's license and be willing to transport clients to appointments, errands, shopping, and other approved destinations using either their own properly insured vehicle or the client's vehicle, depending on the assignment.

Your Duties:

• Safely drive clients to appointments, errands, shopping, and other approved destinations
• Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Offer companionship and encourage client independence
• Follow care plans developed by our Registered Nurses
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning
• Provide medication reminders
• Prepare meals and perform light housekeeping
• Maintain accurate and timely care records
• Follow all agency safety and infection-control procedures

Required Qualifications:

• Active Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) certification in New Jersey
• Valid driver's license
• Willingness and ability to drive clients regularly
• Ability to drive a client's vehicle or use a reliable, properly insured personal vehicle, depending on the assignment
• Demonstrated experience in providing personal care and assisting with daily living activities
• Compassionate, reliable, and committed to delivering top-notch care
• Strong communication skills and an ability to build positive relationships with clients and their families

Additional Requirements:

• Recent physical examination and PPD (tuberculosis) test within the past 12 months
• Proof of MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccination
• Valid Social Security Card (SSN) and/or valid Immigration Documents (if applicable)
