About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Current nursing license Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Minimum 2 years of experience Traveler experience accepted Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias Telemetry remote monitoring skills Experience with bowel obstruction, colostomy/ileostomy care, and feeding tube management Knowledge of pre/post hemodialysis management, blood product administration, and IV management PICC line management experience Ability to work with various airway management devices Familiarity with wound care and Wound Vac procedures Ability to work in high-pressure situations and use rapid response/code teams Experience with electronic documentation Description: Required skills include interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of dysrhythmias. Knowledge of telemetry remote monitoring is crucial. Experience with bowel obstructions and colostomy/ileostomy management is essential. Candidates should be proficient in feeding tube care and management. Experience in pre/post hemodialysis management is needed. Competency in blood product administration and central line blood draws is required. Candidates should have skills in phlebotomy and peripheral line care. PICC line management and IV starting and maintenance are necessary. Knowledge of administering heparin, insulin, and PCA is required. Experience with chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP management, and HFNC is important. Candidates should possess skills in non-invasive airway management and oral suctioning. Oxygen administration and handling oxygen tanks are required skills. Familiarity with isolation precautions and PPE is critical. Candidates should be proficient in wound care and Wound Vac management. Understanding of patient diagnoses such as diabetes, dementia, COVID, pneumonia, and COPD is necessary. Competency in managing conditions like sepsis, GI bleed, anemia, and renal failure is important. Experience with various surgical recovery cases and other common conditions is advantageous. Candidates will be expected to float to different units as required. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is a key responsibility. Flexibility in scheduling and availability during holidays is necessary. All candidates must pass EKG testing prior to start.
