Associate Sonographer - FT

Overview The Associate Sonographer operates imaging equipment (primarily ultrasound) to assist in diagnosis and treatment, with a focus on patient safety, high-quality imaging, and collaborative communication with patients and healthcare professionals. Location Mercy Hospital Southeast, 1701 Lacey Street, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701 Hours / Schedule Full-Time (40 hours per week). Shift – TBD. Responsibilities Operate imaging equipment and software to acquire diagnostic ultrasound images. Ensure patient safety and comfort during examinations. Maintain high-quality imaging standards and adhere to protocols. Collaborate with patients and healthcare professionals to provide optimal care. Qualifications Education: Graduate of a school of Sonography with completed clinical hours OR registered sonographer. License: State licensure may be required depending on the state of practice. Experience: None required. Certifications/Registrations: Obtained ARDMS or ARRT or CCI registry OR Registry eligible (achieve registry within 6 months of eligibility); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire. Notes: In Arkansas, ARDMS-RVT OR CCI-RVS OR ARRT-VS may be required within 12 months of hire/transfer depending on role scope. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of protocols and ability to adjust as needed. Knowledge of safe and proper machine operation. Knowledge of machine emergency procedures and radiation safety procedures. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities. Physical Requirements Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
