General Purpose of Job The Revenue Protection Supervisor is responsible for overseeing Revenue Protection field personnel and the Revenue Protection Specialist. This position will assist with the collaboration with field security teams and law enforcement agencies, utility providers, and internal departments to ensure effective case management and preparation of cases for criminal prosecution. Additional responsibilities include overseeing the analysis and troubleshooting of Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) data, identifying system issues, and assisting in the development and delivery of power theft training programs for front-line personnel. The role also supports the collection and documentation of data used in investigative reports. This position is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the Revenue Protection department and evaluating employee performance to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with organizational standards. The individual in this role is expected to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Key Responsibilities include training and developing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work activities; monitoring productivity and performance; addressing employee concerns and resolving operational issues; and ensuring adherence to departmental procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety standards. Minimum Required Qualifications and Competencies The following includes the minimum job requirements and essential duties for this position. Education Minimum: High School Diploma. Preferred: Two (2) year associate’s degree in public administration, business management, engineering, or closely related field. Experience Minimum: Four (4) years or more of progressive experience in distribution electric utility operations. With the qualification to disconnect services at the transformer, pull meters and record voltage/amperage readings. Minimum: Three (3) years of supervisory experience. Minimum: Ten (10) years of experience with Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI), including field operations and data collection. Minimum: Experience conducting training and presenting as a subject matter expert. Preferred: Experience or similar work within an electric utility or related industry. Technical Skills Working knowledge of electric distribution systems, including overhead and underground facilities, metering equipment, transformer disconnect procedures, and voltage/amperage readings. Working knowledge of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems, including meter data collection, system monitoring, troubleshooting, and consumption analysis. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and utility software systems, including the ability to generate reports, analyze data, and utilize corporate reporting tools. Other Requirements Ability to operate a variety of office equipment, including a personal computer, printers, copy machines and telephone. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work irregular hours for assignment completion and flexibility to change scheduling and report to work on short notice during emergency situations. A valid Florida driver’s license for occasional driving privileges of a company vehicle must have and maintain an acceptable driving record as determined by SECO Energy. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Familiarity with IVUE or similar utility management systems. Normal work hours will be eight (8) hours Monday through Friday, between 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Strong analytical skills with the ability to sort through data and generate reports. Successful completion of pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen. Supervising Revenue Protection Ability to disconnect service and pull meters to prohibit use of service, as required. Supervising the and gathering of information, procurement of photographs of utility theft; providing of testimony and/or documentation for criminal/civil actions; representation/protecting the Cooperative’s interest in judicial proceedings. Coordinate investigations with other departments, contractors, etc. and establish probable cause for prosecution. This position is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the Revenue Protection department. The individual in this role is expected to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work activities; monitoring productivity and performance; and ensuring compliance with departmental procedures and safety standards. Interview persons that have suspected involvement in the criminal activity of power theft. Inform members of policies and penalties involved in service and/or equipment tampering or theft. Make decisions to involve law enforcement and other agencies in prosecuting utility service and/or equipment thefts. Preparation of investigative reports and documents for state attorneys, warrants, work tickets, etc. Maintain custody of evidence; inspect wiring, plumbing, and metering devices Generate field inspections of high/low consumption reports. Maintain a working relationship with law enforcement agencies to investigate crimes and prepare cases for prosecution. Function as Liaison between counsel and senior management on power theft cases, as directed. Develop and delivery of training programs to front-line personnel for gathering data used in investigative reports. Supervise the Revenue Protection Specialist and provide guidance on revenue protection activities. Develop and maintain procedures, reports, and dashboards that utilize Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) data to identify revenue recovery opportunities and improve operational efficiency. Review and monitor daily service orders generated by the Revenue Protection Specialist to ensure accuracy, timely completion, and compliance with established policies and procedures. Policy Development, Training & Compliance: Delivering training and guidance to revenue protection personnel on updated procedures, promoting a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement. Conduct internal reviews and system audits to ensure ongoing compliance with internal policies. Maintain and manage the Revenue Protection SharePoint site to support revenue protection by organizing and updating documentation, SOPs, and other critical materials, while ensuring secure file access and effective information sharing across departments. Revenue Recovery and Performance Management: Monitor, analyze, and report on revenue protection performance metrics, including theft recovery, billing adjustments, settlements, and case outcomes. Analyze trends in energy diversion, meter tampering, and non-technical losses using AMI data and investigative results. Coordinate with Accounting to ensure consistent and accurate application of revenue recovery charges and adjustments. Prepare operational and executive-level reports on revenue protection activity, financial recoveries, and program effectiveness. AMI and Technical Program Oversight: Oversee the use of AMI data analytics and exception reporting to identify potential theft, tampering, and consumption irregularities. Coordinate with internal departments to ensure AMI systems effectively support revenue protection objectives. Validate AMI-driven alerts and investigative triggers for accuracy, effectiveness, and operational relevance. Recommend improvements to AMI processes, detection methodologies, and investigative workflows.
