Part Time Payroll Specialist

Schedule: Part-time (approximately 12–20 hours/week) Job Type: Contract / Temporary Overview Our client is seeking a part-time Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations in a fast-paced environment. This role focuses on ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining compliance, and supporting employees with payroll-related inquiries. Responsibilities Process weekly and/or bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Review and validate timekeeping records for completeness and accuracy Maintain and update employee payroll records (new hires, terminations, changes) Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and adjustments Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations Assist with payroll tax reporting and documentation Reconcile payroll discrepancies and collaborate with HR and finance teams Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, deductions, and tax withholdings Support payroll audits and maintain organized payroll documentation Qualifications 6+ years of payroll processing experience Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance standards Experience with payroll systems (ADP or similar preferred) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality Strong communication and problem-solving skills Experience with multi-state payroll is a plus Preferred Skills Familiarity with HRIS/payroll systems Ability to handle high-volume payroll in a deadline-driven environment Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and 401K plan.
