Biotech Licensing Director (Rockville)

We are in search of an inventive biotech enterprise that is looking for a US centered Director of Biotech Licensing to oversee worldwide licensing strategy for biological and therapeutic resources.This opportunity is entirely remote and open to candidates throughout the United States. While the company's main offices are in Maryland, candidates who are available during Eastern Time Zone hours are highly desired to facilitate collaboration with executives and essential business activities.Vital RequirementApplicants must have recent, direct experience in spearheading licensing transactions within a biotech or pharmaceutical firm. Candidates must currently hold a formal Business Development role within a biotech or pharmaceutical company or have done so very recently. Experience in other industries such as CROs, medical devices, healthcare services, or commercial sales will not be sufficient for this role.Role OverviewThis senior executive will be responsible for developing global licensing strategies, identifying key biopharma partners, structuring intricate transactions, and enhancing enterprise value through impactful collaborations.Main Responsibilities• Spearhead global out-licensing efforts for biologics and therapeutic programs• Identify, assess, and approve biotechnology and pharmaceutical partners• Conduct thorough market analysis and competitive intelligence to optimize asset positioning• Formulate and negotiate licensing agreements involving valuations, milestone payments, royalties, and financial frameworks• Create and present high-level business proposals and partnership concepts to senior management• Lead term sheet development, due diligence, and interdisciplinary deal implementation• Collaborate with R&D, regulatory affairs, clinical affairs, and executive management to maximize portfolio value• Monitor partner performance post-deal to ensure adherence to contractual terms and expectationsQualifications• Hands-on experience with biotech out-licensing as part of recent Business Development leadership duties• Extensive background in biopharmaceutical business development and strategic licensing• Proven track record in negotiating complex global licensing transactions• Profound financial insight including asset assessment and deal structuring• Comprehensive knowledge of therapeutic development, regulatory pathways, and commercialization strategies• Exceptional executive-level relationship management skills with a history of achieving tangible outcomes• Ability to handle multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously with precision and confidentialityThis position is not related to commercial sales.
