Gate Clerk

Position Summary The Gate Clerk is responsible for safely and accurately facilitating the movement of equipment to and from the Yard. The Gate Clerk also assists management in ensuring that gates are clear of obstructions, equipment used at gates is well maintained, movement at gates is controlled, and customer expectations are exceeded. Position Responsibilities Ensure equipment is accurately gated into and out of Yard in a timely manner. Ensure that equipment gated into Yard is safe to load and meets dock loading standards. Keep equipment in proper operating order and promptly notify management of any issues. Conduct gate equipment audits to ensure that gates are properly stocked with necessary tools. Issue gate passes to all drivers entering the facility. Verify seal numbers on equipment. Check all equipment entering the facility for damages. Manage customer expectations as it relates to yard management. Control access to Yard by allowing only authorized visitors, vendors, and drivers. Keep paperwork and other records up-to-date using WhereNet asset management system. Maintain traffic movement at gates to ensure that equipment is not obstructing Yard or adjacent streets. Direct traffic in Yard as needed and ensure all personnel follow directions. Keep Yard and gates in good order by performing basic housekeeping as needed. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. One year related experience preferred. Ability to effectively communicate with team members and outside sources. Capability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to multi‑task and prioritize responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Desire for professionalism in a dynamic and challenging work environment. Pay Range: $18.00* *The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location.
