LaClare Creamery is seeking a dependable and motivated Production Assistant to support our chevre packaging operations. This position helps keep our cheese production running smoothly while ensuring quality, consistency, and food safety every step of the way.

Location: Malone, WI – 100% on‑site

Reports To: Chevre Packaging Supervisor

Typical Hours: Month – Thursday; 5:00am to 3:00pm

Pay: Starting at $19.00/hr

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with daily chevre packaging operations to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate production.
  • Assist with production runs and accurately document all steps to ensure product consistency and quality.
  • Perform product quality checks, record results, and make adjustments based on recipe specifications.
  • Monitor equipment and work environment to identify abnormalities and escalate concerns as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including washing, rinsing, sanitizing, and properly storing equipment.
  • Collaborate with the production team and leadership to complete assigned tasks efficiently.

What We’re Looking For

  • 1+ year of manufacturing or food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
  • Reliable team player with a willingness to learn cheese production processes.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds continuously and stand for extended periods, with occasional bending, twisting, climbing, and repetitive motion.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Work with Chevre Packaging Supervisor and production team to complete all tasks within the production areas.
  • Assists in operating equipment in the cheese packaging process, successfully making a safe, quality product.
  • Production: Assisting with all production runs and documenting all steps in make procedure to ensure accurate, consistent, safe, and quality products every time.
  • Performs product tests, records results, and makes necessary adjustments according to recipe specifications.
  • Monitors, prepares, and changes equipment in the cheese packaging process.
  • Remains aware of work environment sounds to detect abnormalities in equipment operation.
  • Sanitation: Keep a clean work environment. Wash, rinse, sanitize and return all equipment back to its designated area immediately after done using. Complete time of use, daily, weekly, biweekly, and monthly sanitation scheduled responsibilities along with documentation once work is complete.
  • Follows all policies and procedures LaClare Creamery has implemented regarding food and personal safety to assist in maintaining a safe work environment and safe, quality products at all times. 
  • Effectively promotes Company values and culture drivers.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience, Skills & Attributes

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • 1 year of experience in manufacturing or food manufacturing.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
  • Reliable team player with a willingness to learn cheese production processes.
  • Be able to lift 50+ pounds continuously, stand for 8 hours/day and occasionally twist, bend, climb, grasp, and other repetitive movements.
  • Flexible to various creamery environments including unloading, making, painting, packaging, aging, and shipping.
