Typical Day-to-Day:
• Building new platform features, designing and coding both the frontend interfaces advisors see and the backend services that power them
• Developing and maintaining APIs, building the backend services that pull in market data, fund data, and portfolio models and making them accessible to the platform
• Building frontend dashboards, creating the visual interfaces advisors use to construct portfolios and view risk analytics like beta, correlation, and drawdown
• Integrating financial data, connecting market data feeds, fund databases, and strategist models into platform workflows
• Optimizing performance, making sure the platform runs fast and doesn't break when running complex portfolio simulations
• Collaborating with investment strategists, sitting with the finance team to understand what analytics they need and translating that into working software
• Writing and maintaining clean tested code, contributing to platform architecture and keeping the codebase healthy as the product grows

Potomac is continuing to invest in modern data and AI capabilities to support our growing business. We are seeking a Full Stack Developer with 3-4 years of fintech experience who enjoys building
data-driven products that combine financial analytics with intuitive software design. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for a skilled Developer - strong performers will be considered for a full-time position.


You will work on the Guardrails platform, which allows advisors to design portfolios using risk analytics such as beta, correlation, diversification, and drawdown analysis. This role
requires strong engineering skills along with a working understanding of how portfolio analytics function in real-world financial applications. This is a hands-on development role working closely with Operations, Technology, Analytics, and business stakeholders. This is a 100% in-office role in Bethesda, MD.

• Develop and support backend services and APIs powering portfolio modeling and analytics
• Build modern front-end interfaces for portfolio construction, analytics visualization, and advisor proposal workflows
• Integrate market data, fund data, and strategist models into application workflows
• Optimize performance for large portfolio simulations and analytics calculations
• Collaborate with investment strategists and product managers to translate financial concepts into scalable software solutions
• Maintain high-quality, well-tested code and contribute to platform architecture as the system evolves

Qualifications
Required
