Pediatric Cardiologist

Nemours Children’s Health in Jacksonville, FL, is seeking a General Pediatric Cardiologist to join our expanding team. Interest or expertise in preventive cardiology or exercise physiology is desirable but not a requisite. This position offers the opportunity to practice at one of the Southeast’s premier children’s hospitals, serving a diverse patient population and focusing on the prevention, early detection, and management of cardiovascular risk factors in children and adolescents.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and treat congenital and acquired heart conditions in infants, children, and adolescents.Provide comprehensive outpatient cardiology care.Individuals with an interest in preventive cardiology will have the opportunity to grow a program with an emphasis on risk reduction, lifestyle modification, and preventive strategies for infants, children and adolescents. Manage conditions such as hyperlipidemia and family history of early cardiovascular disease.Individuals with an interest in exercise physiology will have the opportunity to grow a program of exercise stress testing working with a nurse practitioner and exercise physiologist.Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nutritionists, exercise specialists, endocrinologists, and other pediatric subspecialists, to deliver coordinated, family-centered care.Support the continued growth of the Nemours Cardiac Center at Wolfson Children’s Hospital.Participate in departmental meetings, care coordination, and quality improvement initiatives.Opportunities exist for involvement in community outreach, patient education, and program development to advance preventive cardiology efforts.QualificationsCandidates with interest in exercise physiology or preventative cardiology are strongly encouraged to applyMD, DO, or international equivalent (MBBS, MBChB, etc.) from an accredited medical school.Completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology.Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics.Demonstrated expertise or strong interest in Preventive Cardiology or Exercise Physiology (additional fellowship training not required).Eligible for an unrestricted Florida medical license.Commitment to patient-centered care, collaboration, and advancing children’s cardiovascular health.What We OfferJoin a mission-driven, nationally recognized children’s health system committed to excellence in patient care.Practice at Wolfson Children’s Hospital, the leading referral center for congenital and acquired heart disease in North Florida and South Georgia.Competitive base compensation in the top quartile of the market.Annual incentive compensation that values clinical activity, patient outcomes, and quality improvement.Comprehensive benefits package: health, life, dental, vision, retirement plans, licensure and CME allowance.Relocation assistance, mortgage support, and sign-on bonus potential.Not-for-profit status; eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness.No state income tax in Florida.Opportunity for academic appointment at the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine.Visa & SponsorshipNemours Children’s Health in Jacksonville, Florida, proudly supports the recruitment of international physicians.
