Position: Full-Time, Live-Out Housekeeper/Family Assistant
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00/5:00 PM; 40 hours per week guaranteed, with occasional flexibility for additional hours as needed (i.e., staying late for date nights and/or very rare weekends to help with birthday parties, etc.), with advance notice
Compensation: $40–$45 per hour DOE, negotiable for the right candidate

About the Family

A warm, welcoming, and appreciative family in Bedford, NY is seeking an exceptional Housekeeper/Family Assistant to become an important part of their household. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who takes tremendous pride in their work, has a high level of attention to detail, and enjoys creating a clean, organized, and beautifully maintained home for a busy family.

The family includes Mom, Dad, and their four children: a 10-year-old boy, 7-year-old girl, 5-year-old girl, and 2-year-old boy. Mom is a hands-on stay-at-home parent and is very involved with the children, while Dad works from home and is also actively involved with the family.

Housekeeping is the primary focus of this position. The family is looking for a true housekeeping professional who knows how to maintain a home to a high standard, manages laundry and linens exceptionally well, and naturally notices the details that keep a household running smoothly.

The family is moving into their beautiful new home on September 3rd and would especially love to find someone who is highly organized, efficient, and excited to help with the transition. Assistance with unpacking, organizing, setting up spaces, and creating practical household systems and routines would be highly desirable. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys getting a home beautifully organized and helping establish systems that will keep it running smoothly long-term.

While childcare is not a primary responsibility , the family would love someone who genuinely enjoys children and is comfortable naturally engaging with them when they are home. There may be occasional times when Mom needs to step out to pick up the older children or take care of something, and she would appreciate having someone she trusts who can stay with the youngest or lend a caring hand as needed. The ideal candidate will be warm and nurturing with the children while understanding that this is first and foremost a housekeeping position.

The family also has two very friendly dogs, a Mini Dachshund and a Welsh Springer Spaniel, so a genuine love of pets is important.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of this role is maintaining the home to a consistently high standard and helping the household run smoothly.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation of the home
• Managing household laundry with exceptional attention to detail, including washing, folding, organizing, and ironing linens and select garments
• Changing bed linens and taking particular care with sheets and household linens
• Keeping the home tidy and well maintained throughout the week, with an understanding of which areas need daily attention and which can be addressed on a less frequent schedule
• Proactively noticing what needs attention and taking care of it without needing reminders
• Helping unpack, organize, and establish systems in the family's new home
• Assisting with occasional household errands, package returns, vendor appointments, or other tasks that help make life easier for the family
• Providing occasional, informal childcare support when Mom needs an extra set of hands, such as staying with the youngest child while she is out
• Light pet care as needed, such as letting the dogs out or feeding them

The family is looking for someone who takes ownership of the home and understands that excellent housekeeping is about more than completing a checklist. Requirements

• Prior experience as a professional housekeeper within a private household
• Exceptional housekeeping, laundry, linen, and ironing skills
• Childcare experience a strong plus
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Excellent professional references
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Comfortable driving when needed for household errands or occasional family support
• Comfortable around dogs
• Genuine love of children
• Open to occasional travel
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred

Compensation & Benefits

• $40–$45 per hour DOE, negotiable for the right candidate
• 40 guaranteed hours per week
• Two (2) weeks paid vacation
• Five (5) paid sick days
• Paid major holidays
