Diversified Farm Assistant

Johannes Farms, Inc. is looking for a motivated individual with a passion for agriculture to work at its cattle feeding and row crop operation. Position can be full-time or part-time with core hours occurring during daily morning chores. Rotating weekend schedule.

Johannes Farms, Inc. is a successful diversified farming operation, located 7 miles from Columbus. The primary focus of the operation is on animal welfare and maximizing efficiencies in raising quality beef for todays consumer. Qualifications:

Must be trustworthy, responsible, hardworking

Ability to work as a team or independently

Experience working with livestock

Crop production background with large equipment

Clean driving record for grain hauling locally with a semi-tractor/trailer

Mechanical interest and aptitude for routine equipment maintenance and repair

Willing to utilize technology to improve operation

CDL helpful, but not required

Job Responsibilities:

Assist in all aspects of feedlot operations, including feeding cattle daily

Process incoming cattle to ensure healthy transition

Sort, treat, and move cattle

Load and mix rations for each pen accurately using scale, IPads, and feed software

Take care of equipment maintenance such as oil changes and minor repairs

Operate large row crop equipment safely and accurately

Assist in managing irrigation equipment, including power units and center pivots

Other duties as assigned may include:

- Spraying weeds

- Cleaning/scraping pens

- Keeping the shop clean and organized

- Hauling manure

Physical requirements and skills needed:

Ability to lift 50 lbs.

High school diploma/equivalent

Valid driver's license

Must speak English

Must pass a drug test
