CUSTODIAN I

The Township of Howell is seeking a dependable individual to perform cleaning, basic maintenance, and minor repair work at municipal buildings and facilities. Responsibilities include cleaning offices, meeting rooms, restrooms, and common areas; sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waxing floors, removing trash, and maintaining building appearance. Additional duties include maintaining Township grounds and recreational facilities, assisting with snow removal, moving furniture and supplies, setting up rooms for meetings and events, maintaining janitorial supply inventories, opening and closing buildings. Work is performed under the supervision of the Buildings and Grounds Supervisor.

Qualified candidates should have at least one year of custodial or related maintenance experience. Applicants should possess knowledge of building cleaning and maintenance practices, equipment, and supplies. Candidates must be able to follow instructions, work independently.


Said position is an aligned position with the TWU bargaining unit with a starting annual salary of $47,679 at a grade 17 step 1 with full health benefit package.
