MAINTENANCE AIDE (SEASONAL)

Position: Maintenance Aide (Seasonal) – North Coast Redwoods District / Eel River Sector. Salary: $17.43–$21.18 per hour. Final filing date: 7/6/2026. Responsibilities Perform routine housekeeping and facility maintenance duties to keep assigned areas of Humboldt Redwoods State Park in good repair. Follow directions, use simple math calculations, learn park rules and regulations, perform varied manual tasks, and serve guests. Work under the supervision of the Park Maintenance Supervisor and may work up to 1,500 hours during a 12‑month period. Transport equipment up to 40 lbs and perform frequent walking on even and uneven surfaces. Be willing to work weekends and holidays as needed. Requirements Must routinely lift 50 lbs. Ability to work in varied climatic conditions and cooperate with coworkers. Valid California driver’s license of appropriate class with a safe driving record (no convictions in the past two years for moving violations). Required to submit to a background investigation and Live Scan fingerprinting before appointment. May be required to occupy state‑owned housing; state housing may be provided if available. Experience in janitorial or housekeeping tasks desired but not required. Working Conditions Primarily outdoor work with travel between park units.
