Position: Concrete Superintendent

Location: Bismarck, ND 

Compensation: $150k+ Based on Experience

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Concrete Superintendent to lead field operations across one or multiple concrete construction projects. This individual will be responsible for overseeing daily jobsite activities, managing crews and foremen, coordinating labor and resources, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with quality standards.

The Concrete Superintendent will serve as the primary field leader, driving accountability, productivity, and execution through effective planning, scheduling, communication, and team development. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who takes ownership of project outcomes, proactively resolves challenges, and develops strong, accountable crews while upholding the company's core values.

Key Responsibilities:

• Field Leadership: Lead foremen and concrete crews by establishing clear expectations, maintaining a strong jobsite presence, and setting the standard for professionalism, safety, and teamwork.

• Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop and manage daily work plans, weekly schedules, and three-week look-ahead schedules to ensure work is properly planned and project milestones are achieved.

• Crew and Resource Management: Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain efficient operations across multiple crews and projects.

• Safety and Accountability: Promote a strong safety culture, enforce jobsite safety requirements, and hold foremen and crews accountable for performance, planning, communication, and safe work practices.

• Schedule Management: Maintain realistic field schedules, monitor progress, protect critical-path activities, and proactively address delays or scheduling conflicts.

• Quality Control: Ensure all concrete work meets project plans, specifications, and company quality standards. Identify potential issues early and minimize rework through proper planning and oversight.

• Communication and Coordination: Maintain clear, consistent communication with field crews, foremen, Project Managers, subcontractors, and other trade partners to coordinate activities and resolve issues.

• Problem-Solving: Identify jobsite constraints, remove obstacles, and escalate risks or project concerns early to prevent disruptions and maintain progress.

• Productivity Management: Monitor crew performance, improve workflow efficiency, reduce downtime, and support accurate field reporting and production tracking.

• Training and Development: Mentor foremen and crew members, strengthen leadership capabilities, and develop future field leaders through hands-on coaching and training.

• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve field execution, scheduling, quality, and productivity through innovation, education, and disciplined work practices.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in concrete construction, field supervision, or concrete crew leadership.

• Proven ability to lead foremen and crews while managing multiple jobsite activities.

• Strong understanding of construction planning, scheduling, sequencing, and field coordination.

• Ability to coordinate labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and other project resources.

• Knowledge of concrete construction quality standards, project plans, specifications, and safety requirements.

• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to hold teams accountable for safety, productivity, quality, and schedule performance.

• Experience developing daily, weekly, and three-week look-ahead plans.

• A proactive, solutions-oriented approach with the ability to identify and resolve field challenges before they impact project outcomes.
