Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Summary: The registered nurse in the PACU provides individualized peri-anesthesia nursing care to geriatric, adult, and adolescent patients, ensuring safety and comfort from admission through discharge. This role involves monitoring patient recovery, managing Airway, and administering medications based on established standards of care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' condition and response to anesthesia and post-operative recovery.
• Implement peri-anesthesia nursing standards, including airway management and pharmacology protocols.
• Administer medications, monitor for side effects, and respond to adverse reactions.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and update patient care plans.
• Document patient care activities accurately and efficiently within electronic health records.
• Ensure adherence to safety, infection control, and compliance policies throughout care.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid California RN license and have uploaded Nursys verification within the past 2 weeks.
• Demonstrate at least 2 years of PACU RN experience, preferably in a high-acuity hospital setting.
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from AHA or ARC.
• Possess knowledge of peri-anesthesia standards, airway management, and pharmacology including medication doses and reactions.
• Be flexible to float to other campuses and work day shifts with no weekends required.
• Able to complete required onboarding labs and 7-year work history verification.
