Metal Fabrication Operator
- $25ph+ (based on experience)
- 2nd shift - M-F, 1pm - 9pm
- Located in Manitowoc, WI
Are you experienced in metal fabrication or CNC equipment and looking for your next opportunity?
Our client is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented individual to join a growing fabrication team operating CNC plasma and oxy-fuel cutting equipment. If you enjoy working with heavy steel, precision cutting, and seeing projects come to life, this could be the perfect fit.
As part of the fabrication team, your responsibilities may include:
- Operate CNC plasma and oxy-fuel burn tables to cut steel components
- Load and process plate material according to production schedules
- Read work orders, drawings, and production instructions
- Perform bevel cuts and specialty cuts to customer specifications
- Remove slag and burrs to prepare parts for the next stage of production
- Inspect finished parts to verify quality and accuracy
- Create or modify cutting programs as needed
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Safely operate overhead cranes to move large steel plates and finished parts
- Use grinders, torches, and other fabrication tools to complete jobs
- Maintain accurate production records
- Keep your work area clean while following all safety procedures

- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, CNC machining, or industrial production preferred
- Experience operating CNC plasma tables, oxy-fuel cutting equipment, or similar machinery is a plus
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read tape measures, calipers, and production drawings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Excellent attendance and reliability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Vocational or technical training in welding, machining, or fabrication
- Experience operating overhead cranes or forklifts
- Previous experience programming CNC cutting equipment
- Familiarity with blueprint reading
