This is a great opportunity for experienced LVNs looking for consistent 12-hour night shifts and the flexibility of an open-ended contract that is updated monthly.LVN – Med-Surg/LTACH Details:Setting: CorrectionsShift: Days or Nights, may start as early as 4:30amHours: 36/48 hour rotationPay: $40/hourContract: Open-ended; contracts are updated monthlyAvailability: Candidates must provide their availability each monthQuick Offers! $250 Referral Bonuses Available!LVN – Med-Surg/LTACH Job Responsibilities:Provide nursing care to the inmate population in a correctional healthcare settingAdminister medications to inmates in accordance with physician orders and facility protocolsAssess and monitor patients and provide appropriate nursing interventionsDocument patient care accurately and timelyRespond to patients' healthcare needs and communicate changes in condition to the appropriate medical staffFollow facility policies, procedures, and safety protocolsCollaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide quality patient careFloat to other units and facilities as neededFloating & Diversion Requirements:Flexibility to float is a required part of this position.Nurses will be asked to float as needed to different units.Units requiring floating are generally located within 10–30 minutes of each other.A nurse may be floated or diverted to another unit within a 50-mile radius of their assigned unit.In rare circumstances, a nurse may be transferred to another unit in the middle of a shift.LVN – Med-Surg/LTACH Requirements:Current, valid Texas LVN licenseMinimum 2 years of Med-Surg or LTACH experienceIV Therapy Certification requiredCurrent BLS certification requiredAbility to work in a correctional healthcare settingCorrectional healthcare experience is highly preferred and will be considered a strong advantage.Willingness and ability to float or divert to other assigned units/facilities as requiredStrong clinical skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environmentIf you are an experienced LVN with Med-Surg or LTACH experience and are comfortable working in a correctional healthcare environment with required floating and diversion, we would love to hear from you!
