About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardio Thoracic ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in CVICU/CTICU; travel experience preferred License: Active Virginia or Compact RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Must-Have: Proficiency in Epic; required skills include arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, and management of ventilated patients. Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Cardio Thoracic ICU position. Candidates will care for step-down patients due to a universal bed model. Schedule includes every other weekend, floating, and holidays. Patient ratios typically range from 1:1 to 1:2. Candidates must demonstrate strong neuro experience related to post-brain surgery care. Responsibilities include managing cardiac drips and vasoactive drips, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and care of ventilated patients. Experience with post-cardiac surgery care and acute stroke management is essential. Infection prevention and isolation precautions are critical components of this role. Candidates must possess skills in IV management and monitoring of pulmonary artery lines. A complete review of the candidate’s history is required prior to submission. Local candidates within a specific radius are not eligible. Fit testing requirements must be met, and any history of testing issues will lead to disqualification. Candidates should have the ability to work during winter holidays.
