Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

Location and Schedule UCHealth Estes Valley Medical Center, Estes Park, Colorado Department: EVMC Rad US Full Time – 0.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks) Shift: Days Onsite role, no hybrid or remote option Overview Performs sonography in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Responsibilities Review patient history, physician orders, and schedule appointments. Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation. When ordered, prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate. Prepare equipment and supplies. Select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoot, resolve, and report equipment malfunctions as necessary. Position patient and perform imaging procedures. Analyze results and identify issues with the quality of imaging results. Take appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enter, transmit, and report scan results. May work with Radiology students. Require critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment and take appropriate action. Requirements Registered Sonographer ARRT Sonography (S) Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program. Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). State licensure if required by law. Any relevant licensure/certification as determined at position level. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider – BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in‑hand before start date; BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
