Part-Time Store Cashier/Stocker

ALDI is looking for enthusiastic part-time cashiers and stockers. As a cashier, you’ll provide friendly, efficient checkout service, while as a stocker, you’ll help keep shelves stocked and organized to ensure a great shopping experience. Each role plays an important part in maintaining smooth store operations and delivering an excellent customer shopping experience. Position Details Position Type: Part‑Time Average Hours: Fewer than 30 hours per week Starting Wage: $19.00 per hour Wage Increases: Year 2 - $19.50; Year 3 - $20.00; Year 4 - $20.00; Year 5 - $21.00 Duties and Responsibilities Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Model and fulfill all customer service principles and elevate concerns to store management as necessary. Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency goals. Assist store management in achieving total loss goals. Comply with all established company policies and processes. Support store management in providing a safe working environment by identifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in working order. Maintain store zone standards and merchandising standards at all times. Adhere to inventory procedures and product handling guidelines. Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards. Cashier Responsibilities Utilize the point‑of‑sale (POS) system to accurately scan and process customer purchases and inform store management of scanning concerns or errors. Adhere to cash policies and procedures. Follow the line policy and open additional check lanes as required to ensure efficient checkout. Complete curbside pickup orders by accurately retrieving items from the store, verifying order contents, and ensuring timely delivery to customers’ vehicles from the staging area. Stocker Responsibilities Stock shelves and displays neatly while following merchandising planograms to maximize sales. Stockers must be able to arrive at work as early as 5:00 a.m. Physical Demands Push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move from one area to another. Lifting, carrying, and placing product weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead. Operating equipment such as a cash register, electric and manual hand jacks, floor scrubber and cardboard baler. Stocking product in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments. Using glass and multipurpose cleaning products. Qualifications Provide prompt and courteous customer service. Operate all store equipment such as cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers. Interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures. Communicate both verbally and in writing. Perform basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Follow instructions and pay attention to detail. Work independently and with others. Organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks to maximize productivity within established timeframes. Maintain reliable and prompt attendance. Meet availability requirements. Education and Experience At least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.
