Position Overview

The PRN Registered Nurse (RN) delivers safe, evidence-based, patient-centered care in one or more clinical departments. PRN nurses may choose to work in a single specialty or cross-train into multiple areas depending on experience, competency, and certifications.

General/Core Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments per provider orders and policy.
• Recognize and communicate changes in patient condition promptly.
• Accurately document in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) according to regulatory and hospital standards.
• Provide patient and family education, pain management, and discharge planning.
• Maintain safety, infection-prevention standards, and HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with physicians, leadership, staff, patients, and families.
• Delegate and supervise tasks for CNAs and support staff per licensure.
• Respond effectively in urgent or emergency situations.
• Participate in required education, competency validation, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Perform additional duties based on department needs.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Active Wyoming RN license
• Current AHA BLS certification
• Computer proficiency; EPIC EMR experience preferred

Physical & Sensory Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs independently
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive movements
• Adequate hearing, vision, and speech for safe patient care
