Program Coordinator

NU Summer Session ManagementProvides management for an education, research &/or operations program/project, recommending goals, assessing feasibility and ongoing performance & providing day-to-day oversight of administrative & operational functions.Specific ResponsibilitiesFaculty Management/Summer Session:Coordinate the recruitment, hiring, and communications for Summer facultyMonitor faculty performance and provide instructional support as needed to improve quality of classroom instruction and student learning outcomes.Serve as point of contact for faculty questions and issues.Review and evaluate student evaluation data for faculty and collaborate with Summer Session Director in hiring/rehiring decisions.Identify teaching infrastructure needs and communicate same to SPS facilities and other staff.Ensure compliance with SPS and NU policies regarding grade submission, course preparation, and evaluations.Manage communications between faculty and students, process faculty contracts and payment requests.Course Scheduling/Summer Session:Manage the academic course offerings for Summer SessionGather and analyze enrollment data to assist in course planning and identify opportunities for new programming and growthWork with department chairs and faculty to establish summer course offerings and teaching schedules.Manage communication with 70+ departments and five schools to organize summer course offerings, obtain budget and faculty appointment information, and complete summer planning cycle for each departmentMaintain extensive database and web pages to accurately reflect course schedule, titles, and descriptions.Work with academic departments and Evanston Registrar to ensure course information is accurately entered into student information system.Manage intake and accuracy of faculty payroll dataManage and analyze enrollment data; provide weekly updates to Assistant Director of Summer Session.Promotion and marketing/Summer Session:Promote all Summer Session programs through outreach and marketing efforts to meet enrollment targets.Compile descriptive copy for all courses offered through Summer Session and College PrepWrite and edit all Summer Session and Summer Institute promotional materials, including brochures, postcards/posters, website, email, social media, and other marketing.Act as primary contact for SPS marketing and registration departments for resolution of all catalog and course management issues, online registration and prospect data entry.Program Planning and Development/Summer Session:Assist in strategic planning to promote the growth of existing programs and the development of new programs in Summer SessionIn collaboration with Assistant Director of Summer Session, research areas of program expansion and create new program proposalsSolicit student and faculty feedback on existing courses and new programs and make recommendations for revision as neededCompile and analyze all relevant data to assist in program planning and improvement; generate reports to analyze results and support strategic growth.Coordinate with Assistant Director of Summer Session, registrar and staff to implement new program offerings.Miscellaneous:Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsSuccessful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience. 1 year program/project administration or other relevant experience.Minimum Competencies:Computer Proficiency: Successfully uses multiple software programs independently. Software may include Excel, Outlook, Word, Office Communication, Oral and Written: Communicates effectively one-on-one, in small groups, and in public speaking contexts; writes precise, well-organized emails, letters, and memos while using appropriate vocabulary and grammar. Customer focus: Regularly monitors student and faculty satisfaction; provides suggestions to improve quality and value to students and faculty. Organization: Plans, organizes and schedules in an efficient, productive manner; anticipates contingencies and pays attention to detail; targets projects or initiatives that require special attention and focuses on key tasks when faced with limited time and/or resources. Problem Solving: Formulates realistic plans and contingencies and establishes appropriate measurements of anticipated results.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree; 3-5 years previous experience managing graduate-level education programs.Preferred Competencies:Business Acumen: Possesses business savvy and demonstrates the activity to foster and lead cost-efficient initiatives without sacrificing quality or core values.
