This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

This is a greenfield opportunity . You'll be helping stand up production planning and scheduling capability from the ground up. Rather than maintaining established processes, you'll be building the schedules, workflows, and cadences that this program will run on for years to come. This role is a strong fit for someone who thrives in ambiguity, is comfortable making decisions without complete data or historical precedent, and is energized by building something new.

As part of a diverse and hardworking team of specialists, you will be responsible for creating, analyzing, and communicating detailed production schedules using industry standard scheduling software. You will collaborate with Manufacturing Leaders, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production Control to ensure work is efficiently planned with risks identified.

Responsibilities Include:

• Develops production schedules and manufacturing plans from the ground up, based on program schedule, customer ask date, labor and machine resource availability, and expected make/buy part availability lead time, often in the absence of established baselines or historical data.
• Helps establish scheduling processes, standards, and best practices for a new program, laying the foundation for repeatable and scalable planning.
• Identifies schedule risks and constraints in a rapidly evolving environment, and communicates status clearly and diplomatically to team leads and stakeholders before issues impact program milestones.
• Establishes and maintains initial schedule baselines and supports formal change control for schedule revisions in accordance with program requirements.
• Manages production schedules for assigned program(s). Provides Production Control detailed information to ensure scheduled completion dates align with work center capacities and capabilities as they mature.
• Supports scheduling needs on other programs beyond primary assignment as team priorities shift.
• Evaluates program scope and creates tactical schedules using scheduling systems (MS Project & Primavera P6), helping control the scope of work released to Production Control for execution.
• Applies appropriate level of schedule detail (milestone vs. task-level) in coordination with Program IMS teams, balancing control-point visibility with execution flexibility as the program definition solidifies.
• When schedule recovery is necessary, helps identify and analyze solutions and bottlenecks, including forward and reverse scheduling methods.
• Works closely with the production team to understand the needs and constraints of a developing manufacturing shop floor and its technicians, and schedules work accordingly.
• Coordinates interdepartmental activity with Program Management, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Engineering to ensure production and customer specifications are accurate and production schedules are timely.
• Embraces a tool-forward, digitally literate approach, actively seeking out and applying available software and automation (including AI) to eliminate repetitive manual work and maximize time spent on high-impact scheduling priorities.
• Balances rapid-response, quick-turnaround scheduling requests with sustained execution of longer-range program deliverables.
• Provides regular updates to management on upcoming production priorities.
• Establishes and updates visual management boards with current job/program status.
• Performs schedule and scope variance analysis and reviews MRP execution.
• Helps ensure the Operations schedule, Program schedule, and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) are aligned and integrated as systems come online.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Operations, or a related field ( or equivalent experience )
• Experience in high-volume, high-mix, or advanced manufacturing environments
• Knowledge of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems and processes
• APICS CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) certification or equivalent
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
• Proven track record of improving throughput, cycle time, or on-time delivery in a fast-paced production environment
• Familiarity with AI and generative AI tools to improve productivity, such as drafting reports, summarizing data, or automating routine scheduling tasks
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present production data and recommendations to cross-functional teams and leadership
