Social Media Coordinator

The Social Media Coordinator will take or gather photos from events and create posts for dept social media.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position is primarily responsible to:

• Take photos of events when available and/or as requested.
• Gather photos from profs and students.
• Gather information about events or people photographed.
• Create Facebook and Instagram posts and post 2-3 times a week. Use a template for consistency of look.
• Other opportunities for social media posts and TV wall slides include:
• Alumni photos stating where they are working, maybe a one- or two-line testimonial (name - including maiden name if relevant, something about how the comm major helps them in their professional or personal lives)
• Alumni features
• Faculty feature with brief description
• Any extracurricular opportunities with a brief description (such as student events, coffee with students, informal classroom discussions at the Bean, Christmas parties, students getting awards, etc.)
• Photos provided by our students of their gatherings/work nights/whatever along with a brief description
• Students practicums
• Other duties as assigned

Typical Qualifications

• Ability to use Canva
• Layout and design skills preferred but not required
• Project management (time management)
• Willingness to take initiative and request photos from profs and others in department as needed
