About the Role: As a Designer, you will be responsible for providing technical and hands‑on support in creating design deliverables. What You Will Be Doing: Perform detailed design for electrical substations, permitting support, site layout, grading design, retaining wall design, stormwater analysis, containment structure design, survey coordination, and civil construction support Conduct transmission right-of-way access improvement design including culvert sizing, stormwater drainage analysis, stabilization specification, construction support, and inspection Develop and modify design criteria utilizing industry standards and client specifications Coordinate design activities with other departments (Transmission, Distribution, Survey, etc.) Maintain a high level of quality and responsiveness in alignment with Pickett’s standards What You Bring: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology (preferred) Associate degree or certificate in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Technology (required) 5-7+ years of hands‑on design experience (required) Experience and technical knowledge of design codes and software (Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation and stormwater analysis programs) (required) Ability to collaborate with team members as well as peers in the electrical utility industry Ability to work in a safe manner and always obey safety regulations Strong time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) Able to communicate technical matters in an understandable and efficient manner Ability to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy So...Why Join Us?
