Associate Microbiologist – Quality Control- Fairfield NJ Job Summary The Associate Microbiologist performs microbiological testing of raw materials, finished products, and water samples in accordance with applicable compendial, regulatory, and client-specific requirements. This role supports laboratory quality and compliance while developing technical expertise in microbiological testing and cGMP practices. Key Responsibilities Perform endotoxin and routine microbiological testing using established procedures. Prepare microbiological media and reagents required for testing. Practice proper aseptic techniques, disinfection, and laboratory safety in accordance with SOPs. Schedule and prioritize testing to meet established completion deadlines while maintaining analytical accuracy and quality. Perform laboratory quality activities, including environmental/lab area monitoring, media qualification, incubator and equipment calibration, maintenance, and sterilization. Accurately document results, and observations in laboratory notebooks and LIMS. Maintain documentation in accordance with cGMP and data integrity. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a related life science required. Endotoxin testing experience required. General knowledge of microbiology principles and routine microbiological testing methodologies. Understanding of cGMP requirements and laboratory documentation practices. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently while following established procedures.
