Job Description We are seeking a Senior Java Enterprise Software Engineer / Backend Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java/J2EE, Spring ecosystem, and building high-volume, secure web services and a proven ability to deliver robust, compliant, and well-tested software that meets business objectives. Responsibilities Ensure software meets functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Design, code, and unit test solutions with clear, maintainable interfaces and successful integration into the application ecosystem. Apply development and testing practices for web applications. Contribute to story refinement and definition of requirements and acceptance criteria. Estimate work across the delivery lifecycle and guide the team on scope and approach. Perform spikes or proofs of concept to mitigate risk and vet new ideas. Utilize multiple architectural components across data, application, and business layers in solution design and development. Assist the team in resolving technical complexities and implementation challenges. Contribute to integration, regression, and performance test suites, analyze reports, and triage issues. Document and communicate information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality. Required Skills & Qualifications Experience with high-volume applications and server-side frameworks such as Spring MVC. Proficiency with Spring Framework, including Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Integration, Spring MVC, and Spring Data JPA. Strong understanding of SOAP web services and RESTful APIs using XML and JSON. Working knowledge of front-end technologies such as Handlebars, Vue, and ReactJS. Experience with XML and JSON binding libraries such as JAXB, Jackson, and Gson. Unit testing using JUnit and contribution to automated test suites. Experience with Git, Maven, Artifactory, and Eclipse or equivalent IDEs, including branching and merge strategies and Bitbucket. Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace. Familiarity with MQ technologies such as IBM WebSphere MQ or ActiveMQ and performance tuning with understanding of JVM internals. Experience with Groovy and object-oriented programming concepts. Experience with distributed systems development using Java/J2EE and web technologies and familiarity with Java design patterns. Experience with defensive programming and application security practices. Experience working with GitHub Copilot or similar coding agents/LLMs. Preferred Skills Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field. 5+ years of hands-on software development experience. Exposure to Agile methodologies and collaboration in team environments. Ability to communicate technology solutions to technical, business, and management audiences. Analytical skills to break down requirements and solve problems. Role Logistics Start month: November. Onsite expectation: Hybrid with a minimum of 3 days onsite per week.
