Whit’s Frozen Custard is known for fresh, made‐on‐site custard and a warm, joyful guest experience. As Assistant Store Manager , you help bring our vision to life: “From scoop to smile, we sprinkle joy across America.” You support daily operations, lead Scoop Squad, uphold brand standards, and help create a welcoming, community‐connected shop.

Role Summary

The Assistant Store Manager supports the General Manager in running a fast‐paced, quality‐focused frozen custard shop. This role blends leadership, guest service, team development, product quality, and operational execution. You lead by example, support shift operations, and help ensure every guest leaves with a smile.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Support

• Assist with opening/closing, cash handling, shift execution, and store readiness.
• Support inventory counts, stock levels, and waste control.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and compliance with health regulations.
• Ensure a clean, safe, organized, guest‐ready environment.
• Lead by example during peak times.

Guest Experience

• Promote a guest‐first culture with friendly, accurate, high‐quality service.
• Help resolve guest concerns with professionalism.
• Support a warm, community‐connected atmosphere.
• Ensure store presentation and product quality reflect Whit’s standards.

Team Leadership

• Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and coaching Scoop Squad members.
• Support scheduling for peak and slow periods.
• Reinforce expectations for service, cleanliness, teamwork, and accountability.
• Lead shift huddles and daily communication.

Quality & Operational Excellence

• Uphold Whit’s product standards and preparation procedures.
• Support production of custard, toppings, novelties, and specialty items.
• Ensure consistent recipes, portions, and presentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and service flow.

Financial & Administrative Support

• Assist with labor management, inventory, waste, and sales trends.
• Support POS accuracy, deposits, refunds, and cash procedures.
• Help complete scheduling, compliance, and operational paperwork.

SOP & Safety Compliance

• Ensure adherence to Whit’s SOPs, checklists, recipes, and policies.
• Maintain food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Reinforce accurate POS use and order entry.

Qualifications

·         Strong background in restaurant sevice industry....Ice Cream a plus.

Whit’s Frozen Custard began on March 3, 2003, at the tail end of one of Granville, Ohio’s coldest winters. Locals weren’t sure what frozen custard was, and many doubted it would last. Not only did it last — it thrived. What started as one small shop has grown into nearly 100 franchise locations across eleven states.
