Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | 12-Hour Rotating Day/Night Shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM / 7:00 PM–7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend and Holiday Required | 48 Guaranteed Hours Per Week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-surgical care to adult and geriatric patients in a 40-bed inpatient Post Surgical Care Unit following PACU recovery
• Manage a patient assignment of 4–7 patients depending on shift, acuity, and unit census
• Perform medication administration using electronic scanning equipment and IV infusion pumps
• Prioritize and multitask patient care needs based on acuity in a fast-paced unit averaging 10–15 admissions per day
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Document accurately and thoroughly using Epic EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification through AHA or ARC
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical experience with recent hospital experience
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Alaris infusion pumps and rover-based medication scanning
• Experience caring for post-surgical and geriatric patient populations
• Ability to thrive in a high-occupancy unit environment with short average lengths of stay
